"Overlapping Liminality" describes a state where multiple transitional phases or thresholds coincide or intersect. Liminality refers to a period of ambiguity or transition where individuals or groups are in-between two distinct phases or statuses, often characterized by uncertainty, ambiguity, and a sense of disorientation. This project reconsiders the relation between artists, curators, and visitors inner journey when they experience the same space. Exploring ways to engage them in various contexts within this art foundation, encouraging them to reflect deeply on the artist’s intentions and thought processes when they encounter a piece of art.”
The structure primarily relies on CLT, with 2ft x 2ft columns providing vertical support, while 1ft x 1ft girders reinforce the floors. The roof consists of waffle CLT planks, ensuring strength and lightweight efficiency. At the foundation, 2.5ft x 2.5ft concrete columns anchor the structure, enhancing stability and load distribution.
Material choices contribute to both functionality and aesthetics. The light-blue stucco ceiling adds a smooth finish, while fluted glass panels introduce transparency and natural light. Laminated wood frames shape the enclosure, complemented by laminated flooring for durability. The outdoor waterproof laminated flooring ensures longevity in exposed areas.
Circulation elements, including an elevator and ramps, integrate seamlessly into the design, offering accessibility. Additionally, landscaping features such as grass and soil layers suggest a connection with nature, possibly as part of a green roof or courtyard. The inclusion of underground piping indicates a concealed drainage or utility system, essential for structural efficiency.
