Xin Chen // 陈忻
Born in China, Xin (Marco) Chen is a designer and architect with a keen interest in architectural representation, digital fabrication, and innovative material applications. Currently pursuing a Master of Architecture at the University of Southern California, he serves as the Media Coordinator for the Graduate Architecture Student Association (GASA). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Connecticut.
Chen’s work has been exhibited at the USC EXO Exhibition, the Blueprint Exhibition, and the USC Annual BTS Exhibition, earning recognition from platforms such as Dezeen School Shows. His professional experience spans international and domestic projects, including urban planning, commercial complexes, and bespoke residential designs. At MADA S.P.A.M in Los Angeles, he has contributed to large-scale architectural visualizations, private residential projects, and product design, including the innovative bottle concept for HongXing Rice Liquor. Prior to this, he worked at Meanwhile Partners in New York, leading interior, furniture, and lighting designs for Nice Day Chinese Takeout, managing vendor coordination, budget analysis, and construction documentation.
Chen’s expertise extends into digital modeling and computational design, with proficiency in Rhino, Houdini, Grasshopper, and V-ray. He has also shared his knowledge as a Teaching Assistant at USC, mentoring students in architectural methodologies and critical design thinking.
Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, Chen's work embodies a fusion of cultural perspectives and technical precision, shaping contemporary narratives in architectural design.
